SONIC MEDITATION CONCERT
with Sai Mike Weis and Liz Harris

Liz Harris composes/records/performs music under the name Grouper. She has released albums since 2005 on various imprints including her own YELLOWELECTRIC. She lives and works on the Oregon coast.
Mike Weis is a percussionist and experimental musician who performs and records as a solo artist as well as a member of Zelienople, Kwaidan, Slow Bell Trio, Mirror of Nature, Good Stuff House, and The Chevrons. Weis is a member of Chicago Zen Buddhist Temple, his Dharma name is Sai.

For this performance, Weis and Harris will collaborate on an hour long sonic meditation in the expansive Buddha Hall of Chicago Zen Buddhist Temple. Harris will be using field recordings, tape loops, voice and live processing. Weis will utilize the unique percussion objects in the room that are typically used for Buddhist rituals, ceremonies and Zen practice. Opening the evening will be a short electronic piece by Gordon Ashworth, A.K.A. Concern.

Seats are limited. Tickets are $15 (SOLD OUT). Half of the proceeds will go to the temple.
